Data strategy design and Snowflake / AWS migration
Objective
Defined a top US Bank’s target enterprise data architecture and guidance on desired capabilities (e.g., real-time streaming, virtualization) including streamlining the data ecosystem and planning for a next generation data platform and cloud enablement.
Challenges
- Current infrastructure unable to handle increasing volumes, variety, and velocity of data.
- Infrastructure did not enable analytics solutions e.g. real-time transaction monitoring.
Approach
- Designed platform, architecture and data requirements to operationalize Snowflake, integrating an AWS data lake.
- Setup and configured Snowflake environment and services to integrate with AWS data lake.
- Implemented continuous integration / continuous deployment based DevOps with iterative execution and deployment to achieve high speed, reliable and efficient delivery of the Snowflake platform.
Impact
- Enhanced analytics analytics capabilities from real-time data.
- Scalable infrastructure capable of handling future increases in data volumes.
